Hello,

When accessing the Insight and reporting blade thru the Entra Portal I get "You don't have access".

I have added the Security Reader role (Entra ID role) and the Log Analytics Contributor role (assigned at the subscription level via IAM): however, I still get the same error.

If you are receiving the "You don't have access" message when trying to access the Insights and Reporting blade in the Entra Portal, it may be due to insufficient permissions. Although you have assigned the Security Reader role and the Log Analytics Contributor role, ensure that you also have the necessary permissions in both Microsoft Entra ID and Log Analytics workspace.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Verify that you are signed in with an account that has the Security Reader role assigned.
    2. Ensure that the Log Analytics workspace is correctly configured and that you have the appropriate permissions to access it.
    3. Check if there are any additional roles or permissions required for accessing the Insights and Reporting features specifically.
    4. If you continue to face issues, consider checking for any misconfigurations in the Log Analytics workspace or the roles assigned to your user account.

Additionally, you can run a sample log analytics query to test your permissions:

    • Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
    • Navigate to Entra ID > Monitoring & health > Log Analytics.
    • Type SigninLogs in the query box and select Run. If this query does not return results, it may indicate a permissions issue with the workspace.

If the problem persists, you may need to consult with your administrator to ensure that all necessary permissions are correctly assigned.
