Everytime I log into Mircosoft Outlook I have to jump through hoops, I log in and out multipul times a day. Why cant it be easier than having to do some much to simply get into my emails.

It's becoming a pest.

I dont have this issue with anything else.

I just want to log on my safe pc at home and not have to go through this process everytime.

    Hi Jeff W,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!

Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!

I completely understand your frustration. Having to "jump through hoops" to access your emails on your safe home PC multiple times a day is indeed annoying and disrupts your workflow.

To help narrow down the cause and stop this repetitive loop, could you please clarify these 3 quick details?

    1. Is this an Office 365 Exchange account, or are you connecting to a third-party service like Gmail, IMAP, or POP into Outlook?

    2. When you finish using Outlook, do you click "Sign Out", or do you just click the "X" to close the application? (Note: Explicitly clicking "Sign Out" prevents Outlook from remembering you).

    3. What exactly does Outlook ask you for? Is it just your password, or does it ask for a code sent to your phone/authenticator app every time?

In the meantime, I recommend trying these basic steps to see if the issue improves:

    Clear Credential Manager:

Close Outlook if it's open, then search for and open Credential Manager on your PC.

Select Windows Credentials, find any stored passwords linked with Outlook or MS Office (e.g., MicrosoftOffice16_Data...), and select Remove.

Note: You'll need to enter your email password again manually when you next open Outlook, but it should save correctly after this.

Make a new Outlook profile: If step 1 doesn't work, try creating a new profile via Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add. This will let you re-add the email account from scratch, hopefully eliminating any corrupted settings.

    Reference: Create an Outlook profile

Repair Office Application: If the issue persists, the Office installation files might be corrupted. Please try running an Online Repair.

You can follow the detailed steps in this official Microsoft guide: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

I hope these steps are partially helpful. If possible, I look forward to your feedback on the questions above to provide more tailored troubleshooting. If I am unclear or misunderstanding anything, feel free to reach out anytime.

    Best regards.
