I cannot download a disc because I am asked what is my Administrator password? When I first got the computer many years ago during setup I did choose a password. This password no longer works. I would like how to find the password that is in there now. Thank you for any help you can give me.

    Hello,

If that admin user was first set up as a local user, and later linked to a Microsoft account, the password would become the Microsoft account's password, not the one you set up.

So, I assume you currently sign into a user that doesn't have admin right?

In this case, I am afraid there's no way to go around it, nor to find the password, unless you know the password, or know what account it has been associated with, so you can reset it via https://account.microsoft.com.

When you first launch Windows, on the sign in page, do you see the admin user listed?

If you have forgotten the Administrator password for your computer, you typically cannot retrieve the existing password directly. However, you can reset it using the following methods:

    1. Ask another administrator: If there are other administrator accounts on the computer, you can ask them to reset your password.
    2. Use a password reset disk: If you created a password reset disk when you set up your account, you can use it to reset your password.
    3. Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR): If your organization has enabled SSPR, you may be able to reset your password through that service.
    4. Contact Support: If you are unable to reset your password using the above methods, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance.

For more detailed instructions on resetting passwords, you can refer to the relevant Microsoft documentation.
