Captcha (press and hold) does not work on either new device setup or on already set up laptop. Just says "please try again"

The press and hold Captcha functionality does not work. It's insane that I cannot speak OR chat with customer support. This critical function just does not work. I can't setup a new device because the press and hold Captcha doesn't work and I can't create a new outlook email account on a fully functioning laptop connected to the internet either for the same reason. The press and hold just says "please try again" for days on end.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum

    I understand you are having trouble creating new account and setup new device, because Captcha keep saying "please try again".

    Here is what you can do:

    Make sure you don't have any of these running on your device and disable all of them (temporarily):

    • VPNs
    • Ad blockers
    • DNS filters (Pi‑hole, NextDNS)

    These are program tend to break Microsoft’s CAPTCHA scripts.

    After you make sure none of the above run on your device, try creating your account in browser incognito/InPrivate mode.
