Printer not printing since recent update to Windows 11

I know that I am not alone in this but since a recent update to Windows - my printer no longer works with both laptop and desktop. I spent the entire day yesterday (after 2 partial days of the same) working through problems with Copilot and have read the complaints and solutions by others online. I am so frustrated with this and want action. I have purchased a new printer but have not picked it up yet, because there is nothing wrong with the printer I currently have. Who is responsible and what does Microsoft plan to do about this? This is absolutely unacceptable.

I have followed all of the instructions on fixing the problem and there seems to be NO solution. I am about ready to dump Microsoft and go to Apple if something isn't done about this.

    Hi,

    What is the printer model?

What connection are you using, USB cable or Wi-Fi?

I'm sorry for the problems you're having. Some users have reported failures, mainly with third-party printer software, such as Epson Utility or Brother.

    Thanks

It sounds like you're experiencing significant frustration with your printer issues following a recent Windows update. There have been reports of problems with printers, particularly after updates to Windows 11. Specifically, issues have been noted with USB connected dual-mode printers that may print unexpected text or data due to conflicts with the print spooler and IPP protocol messages.

Microsoft is aware of these issues and has released updates to address them. For instance, updates released on March 25, 2025, resolved similar issues, and users are encouraged to install the latest updates for their devices to benefit from improvements and fixes. Additionally, if you are using an enterprise-managed device, specific Group Policies can be configured to help resolve these issues.

If you haven't already, I recommend checking for the latest updates for your Windows installation and ensuring that your printer drivers are up to date. You may also want to consider using the troubleshooting tools provided by Microsoft to assist with printer issues.

While it can be frustrating, Microsoft is actively working to resolve these problems, and utilizing the available updates and tools may help restore your printer functionality.
