the Microsoft system will not complete its verification after I prove I'm human

I'm trying top download 365 which I have paid for from the Apple Store. After proving I'm human and after completing step 3 of 4, the system just stops and does not go any further. So, I can't actually download what I have already paid for.

    Hello Gregory Mentzer,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I realize that you've encountered a problem while trying to download Microsoft 365 from the Apple Store. I truly understand your confusion. Let me assist you further.

I suggest you try these steps:

    1. Restart your device and try the installation again

A restart clears partial installs, blocked processes, and stalled verification loops. Microsoft lists this as the first and most successful fix for installation failures.

    2. Use a different internet connection (or disable VPN/proxy)

Microsoft confirms that network restrictions — especially proxies, VPNs, and school/work networks — can stop the installation and verification from proceeding. Try:

    • Switching to a home network
    • Using a mobile hotspot
    • Turning off VPN or Proxy temporarily

    3. Turn off any proxy settings

Proxy configuration is a common cause of the Microsoft 365 setup stopping mid‑flow. Microsoft explicitly recommends disabling proxy settings before installation.

    4. Try the Microsoft 365 Offline Installer (bypasses verification issues)

The offline installer skips the web-based verification step that often causes freezes when the App Store or browser hangs. Microsoft recommends using the offline installer for stalled installations.

    5. Completely remove any previous or incomplete Office installation

If a prior download or install attempt partially failed, the next install may freeze at verification. Microsoft recommends a full uninstall before reinstalling. On Mac: delete all Office apps from Applications and empty the Trash.

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,
