Why can't I just drag and Drop my email accounts the way I want to view them in Outlook (new)?

There seems to be no way to arange my email accounts in the Left pane of MS Outlook (new) app for Windows Desktop. I have searched the internet and found only the "Make it the Primary account to move it to thet top". That doesn't address the account I want to have second or third or fourth in the order.

This is completely rediculous. I don't mind change, but I hate change that isn't an improvement or drops a basic, needed fundamental function of an established program that is used on an hourly or more often bassis!

Comon Microsoft, put someone on this so we can have the functionallity and the user experience we as customers want to keep!

    Dear Bud Wilkinson,

Thank you for posting your question to the Microsoft Q&A.

I am sorry that the answer provided by Q&A Assist could not meet your expectations. You are correct that the ability to manually drag and drop the order of email accounts is a very helpful feature to enhance user workflow. Since the New Outlook for Windows is in a phase of continual enhancement, you can contribute to bringing this functionality to future updates by providing your input directly via the Feedback Hub. Microsoft actively listens to users to improve their service, so the more a feature is requested, the more likely it is to be prioritized.

In the meantime, since you need a specific order for your second, third, and fourth accounts, there is an effective workaround that mimics this functionality and keeps your navigation efficient.

Here is how to set up a custom-ordered view using Favorites:

    1. Add Inboxes to Favorites:
      • Go to the folder list for the account you want first.
      • Right-click on the Inbox folder.
      • Select Add to Favorites from the menu.
      • Repeat this step for every email account you want in your specific lineup.
    2. Reorder the Favorites:
    • Go to the Favorites section at the very top left of your sidebar.
    • Click and drag the Inbox folders up or down. Unlike the main account list, the Favorites section does allow you to drag and drop items into any order you choose.

By this way, you will now see your accounts arranged in the exact 1st, 2nd, 3rd sequence you prefer at the top of your sidebar. While the main account list remains static, your daily navigation will be exactly as you designed it, without the need to scroll through the default list.

I hope this workaround helps improve your workflow while we wait for future updates. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

This is a perfect example of an UNSACCEPTABLE ANSWER! Come on MS Office team. This is absolutely ridiculous!

"In the new Outlook for Windows, the ability to rearrange email accounts in the left pane by drag-and-drop is not supported. Currently, the only way to change the order of accounts is to set one as the primary account, which moves it to the top.…"
