    Hello,

    Can you tell me -

Does this happen when you are browsing the web, or does it happen even when you are not browsing the web and it is coming from the lower right?

What browser do you use? Google Chrome or Edge, or anything else?

To get rid of fake virus pop-ups, you can follow these steps:

    1. Harden Your Browser Settings: Adjust your browser settings to block pop-ups and redirects. For example, in Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Pop-ups and redirects, and set it to "Don't allow sites to send pop-ups or use redirects."
    2. Clear Suspicious Extensions: Some pop-ups may be caused by malicious browser extensions. In your browser settings, check the Extensions section and remove any unfamiliar or unused extensions.
    3. Run a Full Malware Scan: Even if your security software indicates everything is fine, it's a good idea to run a full scan. Use Windows Security or your preferred antivirus software to perform a thorough check for malware.
    4. Enable Enhanced Protection: In Chrome, you can enable Enhanced protection under Settings > Privacy and Security > Security. This feature helps detect dangerous sites before they load.
    5. Avoid Clicking on Pop-Ups: If you encounter pop-ups claiming your computer is infected, do not click on them. Instead, close the browser using Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to end the browser process.
    6. Report Scams: If you encounter persistent scams, consider reporting them to Microsoft through their official channels.

By following these steps, you can minimize the chances of encountering fake virus pop-ups in the future.
