Hi there! My name is David. It’s a pleasure to help you today.

Do you have a laptop or a desktop PC?

Did your PC’s audio work fine before? When did the issue start happening?

I can suggest performing a clean boot of Windows to check if the Audio Endpoint Builder service works correctly, in order to rule out whether a third‑party service/software is causing the issue.

You can find how to do it at the following link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd#id0ebbd=windows_11

If the Audio Endpoint Builder service runs normally in clean boot, you should enable the third‑party services one by one and test again to determine which one may be the cause of the issue.

I can also recommend trying to update the audio drivers, searching on your device manufacturer’s website. You can tell me the brand and model of your laptop or motherboard so I can help you find them.

Let me know if the shared information has been helpful. Regards.

If the Audio Endpoint Builder service is stuck in the shutting down phase, it may be due to a conflict with the audio services or drivers. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Restart Windows Audio Services: You can try restarting the Windows Audio service, which is dependent on the Audio Endpoint Builder. Open the Services application, find "Windows Audio," right-click it, and select "Restart."
    2. Check Dependencies: Ensure that all dependent services are running. In the Services application, right-click on "Audio Endpoint Builder," go to "Properties," and check the "Dependencies" tab to see which services need to be running.
    3. Use Command Prompt: If you can access the Command Prompt, try running net stop audiosrv followed by net start audiosrv to restart the audio services. If you encounter issues with stopping the service, you may need to restart your computer in Safe Mode and try again.
    4. Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or corrupt audio drivers can cause issues. Consider updating your audio drivers through Device Manager.
    5. System Restore: If the problem started recently, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state where the audio services were functioning correctly.

If none of these steps work, and you are considering a factory reset, ensure you back up your data first. A factory reset should be a last resort after trying other troubleshooting methods.
