Hi. My business results on Bing contain incorrect information, and I would like to correct it. The phone number and address are wrong, and before I can correct that data I need to be verified as the owner of the business. The problem is that the verification process relies on the phone number and the address, so I am unable to complete the verification. Any suggestions on how I can break out of this loop? Thanks!

    Hi Tom A,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand how frustrating it is to be unable to correct business details because the verification itself depends on those same wrong details. Here are the recommended steps that can help you break out of this loop.

    1. Sign in at https://www.bingplaces.com with your Microsoft account.
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the page > click Support > submit a request.
    3. Clearly explain the situation > request manual or alternate verification.

This routes your case to Bing Places support for manual review, bypassing the automated verification loop. Once succeeded, you should be able to update the phone number and address normally going forward.

To correct the information on Bing regarding your business, you will need to go through the verification process to prove ownership. Since you are facing a loop where the verification process requires the correct phone number and address, here are some suggestions:

    1. Contact Bing Support: Reach out to Bing support directly for assistance. Explain your situation and request help in verifying your business despite the incorrect information.
    2. Use Alternative Verification Methods: If available, check if there are other ways to verify your business ownership, such as providing documentation that proves your business address or ownership.
    3. Update Your Business Information: If you have access to a business management platform (like Bing Places for Business), try to update your business information there first. Sometimes, making updates through official channels can trigger a review process.
    4. Documentation Submission: Prepare any relevant documentation that can help verify your business, such as business registration documents, utility bills with your business address, or any official correspondence that shows your business name and address.
    5. Wait for Review: After submitting any changes or contacting support, it may take some time for Bing to review and update your information. Be patient and check back regularly for updates on your verification status.

By following these steps, you should be able to break out of the verification loop and correct your business information on Bing.
