I purchased a license last February. According to my account, it expires at the end of this month. My One Drive stopped working today. I received a message that the license expired over 60 days ago. I received no notices of such thing and I did not even own the computer that long ago. I decided to purchase office through Go Daddy and now I cannot access the One Drive. Not sure next steps

    Dear @Bari Wood

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

As a moderator, I don't have the tools to investigate your specific account directly. Because this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. However, I will try my best to guide you as clearly as possible.

Could you help me by taking a screenshot of your full error message?

Also, are you experiencing this issue with the OneDrive web version or the app?

Are your other Office apps having similar problems?

In the meantime, I’d like to explain things a bit. When you purchase a subscription through GoDaddy, GoDaddy holds the highest administrative rights over your account. Because Microsoft provides the service but you purchased it through GoDaddy as an intermediary, GoDaddy is the one in control of the administration system.

Regarding your license expiring earlier than expected, I suggest you contact GoDaddy, as they manage all the information regarding your 'tenant' (account environment). You can ask them to check when your subscription was purchased, when it expires, and why it is showing as expired so early. Since they hold the admin portal, they will be able to check this for you, so please don't worry.

In contrast, if you were to buy a subscription directly from Microsoft, you would be the one holding the admin portal, allowing you to check and manage everything yourself.

So, in this case, please contact GoDaddy so they can best assist you. If any part of my explanation was confusing, please let me know so I can clarify further.

To resolve the issue with OneDrive not working due to a license expiration message, follow these steps:

    1. Check License Status: Ensure that your account has a valid license assigned that includes OneDrive. You can do this by:
      • Going to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      • Navigating to Users > Active users.
      • Selecting your account and checking the Licenses and apps section to confirm that a OneDrive license is assigned.
    2. Reactivate Subscription: If your license has expired, you may need to reactivate your Microsoft 365 subscription. You can find instructions on how to do this in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    3. Flush DNS Cache: If your subscription is active but you're still facing issues, try flushing your DNS cache. Open Command Prompt and enter the command ipconfig /flushdns.
    4. Contact Support: If the problem persists after checking your license and flushing the DNS cache, consider reaching out to Microsoft technical support for further assistance.

Make sure to check if there are any notices regarding your license status in your account settings or email, as sometimes notifications can be missed.
