I’ve changed my gamer tag and it says on my profile in the Xbox the new name change but also shows the old gamertag under it. This is causing cache issues and it’s been a week. How do I fix this?

To resolve the issue with your Xbox gamertag not syncing properly, you should ensure that your profile data is not being stored incorrectly. According to the guidelines, the Xbox network is the source of truth for user profile information, and any changes made to your gamertag should reflect across all devices without retaining old data in the cache.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Make sure your Xbox console is updated to the latest version.
    2. Clear Cache: You may need to clear the local cache on your Xbox. This can often resolve issues where old data is being displayed.
    3. Sign Out and Back In: Sign out of your Xbox account and then sign back in to refresh your profile data.
    4. Check on Another Device: If possible, check your gamertag on a different Xbox device to see if the issue persists.
    5. Contact Support: If the problem continues, consider reaching out to Xbox Support for further assistance.

These steps should help in ensuring that your new gamertag is displayed correctly without any issues from the old gamertag persisting in the cache.
