Acccording to the documentation for the Content Understanding in Foundry Tools https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/content-understanding/service-limits the xlsx files are supported as input. However, while trying to create a custom project, the Uploading Error occures: "Content Understanding now supports the following file formats on this page: .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jif, .jfi, .jfif, .png, .tif, .tiff, .pdf, .bmp, .heic, .heif, .txt. Below file(s) are not supported: test.xlsx".

Kindly ask you to advise if the xlsx file format is going to be added to the supported file formats for custom projects.

    Hello **Anna Vitkina,
**XLSX is supported by the Content Understanding service but is not yet supported in the Custom Project upload experience in Foundry Tools. The upload error is expected. There is no public timeline for XLSX support in Custom Projects UI.

Yes, Content Understanding in Foundry Tools does support Excel files, specifically .xlsx file types. However, it seems that you are encountering an issue where the system is not recognizing the .xlsx format as supported during your project creation. This could be due to a temporary limitation or a specific configuration in the project setup.

Currently, the documentation does state that .xlsx files are supported, but if you are facing an error, it might be beneficial to check for any updates or announcements regarding support for this file type in custom projects. You may also want to reach out to Microsoft support for clarification on whether .xlsx support will be fully integrated into your specific use case.
