There is no method provided to just pay the difference between the Personal and Business subscription when performing the upgrade, there is also no direct route to perform the upgrade, you would need to cancel the personal subscription first, and if applicable get a refund for the remaining time on that subscription, then take out a new Microsoft 365 Business subscription.
Upgrade my personal annual subscription to a business account
I bought in December a personal microsoft 365 annual subscription. Now, in february I would like to upgrade to a Business plan. Is there a way of doing this to pay the difference between the two, rather than buy two subscriptions?

Learn moreTo upgrade from a personal Microsoft 365 subscription to a business plan, you typically need to buy a new business subscription. However, you cannot directly upgrade and pay only the difference between the two subscriptions. You will need to purchase the business plan and then assign licenses to the users who need them. After that, you can cancel your personal subscription if you no longer need it.
It's important to ensure that you move or reassign any users from your personal subscription to the new business subscription before the grace period ends, to retain your data and configuration.
