- Run Outlook in Safe Mode: Exit Outlook, then open a Run dialog box (press Windows logo key + R), type
Outlook /safe, and click OK. If Outlook works fine in Safe Mode, the issue might be caused by an add-in. - Disable Add-ins: If the issue is resolved in Safe Mode, go to File > Options > Add-Ins, select COM Add-ins, click Go, and then clear all check boxes. Restart Outlook and enable add-ins one by one to identify the problematic one.
- Repair Office: Open Control Panel, click on Uninstall a program, right-click your Office installation, select Change, and then choose Online Repair.
- Run Outlook Diagnostics: Use the Classic Outlook Connectivity troubleshooter to fix issues. Make sure you are using the same Windows device that has classic Outlook installed.
- Create a New Outlook Profile: If the problem persists, you might need to create a new Outlook profile. Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles, select the profile to remove, and then click Add to create a new one.
- Run the Classic Outlook Advanced Diagnostics troubleshooter: This will generate a detailed configuration report to help identify the issue.
