Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Dear @Buncwane Linathi Ntlanganiso,
Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!
Based on your description, I understand that you're trying to remove a chat-based meeting series that you originally created in your Microsoft Teams calendar. Even though the app doesn’t allow organizers to fully delete these types of meetings, the recurring reminders continue to appear every day, even though the chat is no longer active and you're now the only participant. You’re attempting to edit or turn off the reminder from your Teams calendar, but the editing screen never finishes loading, preventing you from making any changes.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
To understand the situation better and provide you with the most suitable support, could you confirm the following information:
- Are the recurring reminders appearing in your Teams calendar, Outlook calendar, or both?
- Was this meeting created directly from a group chat, or was it scheduled manually from your calendar?
- When you try to edit the meeting, does the edit window stay stuck on loading indefinitely, or do you see any error message?
- Does the same issue happen in Teams for the web: https://teams.microsoft.com/
- Does the issue persist after you sign out and sign in Teams again or after clearing Teams cache?
Your confirmation would be very helpful in ensuring you receive the most suitable support!
Thank you for your time and patience.
In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to check what might have caused the issue:
1/ Try editing the meeting from Outlook
- Go to: https://outlook.office.com/calendar
- Find the recurring meeting series
- Select Edit > Edit Series
- Delete or update the series from there
2/ Try editing the meeting from Teams for the web
- Visit https://teams.microsoft.com
- Go to Calendar > Open the meeting series and try editing or deleting it
3/ Clear the Microsoft Teams Cache: Please refer to this article for step-by-step instructions: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. If none of the above works, it may be a sync issue on the backend.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful.
Thank you for your time and patience.
