Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi @Celina Waits,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about this unexpected charge on your credit card. I know how concerning it can be to see a payment you don’t recognize, especially when there’s no email confirmation or billing record in your Microsoft account.
Here are suggestion steps that may help you identify the payment:
1. Check all billing sections in the Microsoft 365 admin center
If you’re an admin on a business tenant, sign in at https://admin.microsoft.com and review:
- Billing > Bills & payments: Review Invoices and adjust the date range (e.g., past 6 months or a custom range).
- Change billing account: If you have multiple billing accounts, select this option to review invoices across each one.
- Billing > Billing accounts > Billing profiles: In some cases, charges may be associated with a different billing profile, so make sure to review each profile carefully. Under Billing accounts, you can also verify which email address is set to receive Microsoft billing notifications. If that email address hasn’t received any invoice or charge notification, please contact the Billing team for further assistance (see steps below).
For your reference:
- View or download your invoice in the Microsoft 365 admin center
- Manage your Microsoft business billing profiles

2. If the charge is not yours, secure your payment method
If you believe the card may have been used without authorization:
- Contact your bank to lock or replace the card and prevent further charges.
- Ask your bank about disputing the transaction.
- Review Microsoft’s guidance here: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.
3. Submit a support ticket to the Microsoft Billing team
If no invoices are found and the charge remains unexplained, the Billing department will need to review your tenant and payment records.
To create a support ticket:
1/ Log into admin.microsoft.com with your admin credentials. If you don't have admin permissions, you'll need to contact someone in your organization who does.
2/ Select the green help & support button typically located at the bottom right of the admin center dashboard. Click on it to open the support pane.
3/ Type in “I need to check my payment” into the search bar.
4/ Select “Contact support”.
5/ Choose your preferences: preferred contact method, preferred time zone, and preferred contact language.
6/ Fill in your details and give a strong description of your problem for a quicker resolution. You can add a file, a screenshot, or a video for added support. Once you’ve filled out the details, select Contact me at the bottom.
4. If you cannot access the admin center
If you don’t have access to the tenant or admin account:
You’ll need to call Microsoft Support directly to request assistance in regaining access to your admin account: Phone Number – Microsoft Support
As a workaround, you might consider registering for a new tenant by signing up for a trial subscription via this link Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365. This would allow you to create a new tenant following the prompts provided. Once set up, you can access the admin console of the new tenant and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Billing team on behalf of your previous tenant from within the Admin Center.
Please remember to cancel the trial subscription after your issue is resolved, as this will help you avoid any accidental billing. You may prefer the following resource for detailed instructions: Cancel your Microsoft business subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center | Microsoft Learn.
