Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
The best course of action is to add a new email alias to your existing Microsoft account instead of deleting your current address or creating a brand-new account.
By adding an alias, you can:
- Create a new email name
- Keep all your old emails, contacts, and data
- Use both addresses on the same account
- Choose which one is your primary address
- This way, you don’t lose anything and don’t have to start over.
You can do this by signing in to your Microsoft account, going to Your info, then Manage how you sign in to Microsoft, and selecting Add email alias: https://account.live.com/names/manage
Important reminder:
Please be very careful not to delete your existing @msn.com address unless you are 100% sure you no longer need it. Once an @msn.com address has been deleted, it cannot be recovered, added again, or recreated.
Microsoft clearly states this in their support article under the “Remove an email address” > “Important” note:
I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Regards,
John J.D.
