To cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription and obtain credit, the process depends on the type of billing account you have:

1. If you have an MCA billing account type: You can only receive a prorated credit or refund if you cancel within seven days after the start or renewal of your subscription. If you cancel within this window, the prorated amount will be credited or returned within one to two days. If more than seven days have passed, you can turn off recurring billing to prevent renewal at the end of the term, but you will not receive a refund for the current billing period.
2. If you have an MOSA billing account type: You can receive a prorated credit or refund if you cancel after starting or renewing your subscription. The amount will either be credited towards your next invoice or returned in the next billing cycle.

To cancel your subscription, follow these steps:

• Go to the subscription details page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
• Select Cancel subscription in the Subscription and payment settings section.
• Choose to cancel now or before the next renewal date and provide a reason for cancellation.

Keep in mind that if you cancel, you will continue to have access to your subscription until the end of the current billing period, but you will not receive a refund for that period.
