Every time I open Minecraft I get a 0x800700c1 Error and I have to uninstall and reinstall it to work every single time I restart or turn on my computer.

I have tried to reinstall Windows Store and a few other fixes I've found online, but nothing sticks.

Hi, thank you for replying. Have you done the in-place upgrade by running the Media Creation Tool or just the upgrade tool? The in-place upgrade should apply and repair the update. Can you try to do it again and make sure to download the Media Creation Tool?

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

Since you have reinstalled the game and are still having an issue, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will update the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Note: before doing this, make sure to create a restore point:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027538/windows-create-a-system-restore-point

    1. Go to this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
    2. Select Download Now, and select Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
    3. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.
    4. On the What do you want to do? page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.
    5. After downloading and installing, it should fix the issue.

The 0x800700c1 error you are encountering with Minecraft may be related to issues with the Microsoft Store app or the installation of the game itself. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows and Microsoft Store are fully updated. Sometimes, updates can resolve underlying issues.
    2. Reset Microsoft Store: You can reset the Microsoft Store by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, selecting Microsoft Store, and then choosing the option to reset.
    3. Check Permissions: Ensure that the necessary permissions for the Microsoft Store and the game are correctly set. You may need to adjust registry permissions if they have been modified. Refer to the steps in the context about fixing registry permissions if needed.
    4. Reinstall the Game: Since you mentioned reinstalling Minecraft, ensure that you completely uninstall it and then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. This can sometimes clear up persistent issues.
    5. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: You can run the built-in troubleshooter for Windows Store apps. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance.
