    Welcome Jeffrey Smith,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I am here to assist you.

Regarding your case, I can see that QA Assist has already provided some helpful troubleshooting steps.  you might also want to consider these options:

    Solution: Enable Number pad

    • Most keyboards that include a number pad let you switch it on or off. Look for a Num Lock key—if it’s disabled, the number pad won’t respond. Press the Num Lock key and then test to see if the number pad starts working.
    • Press and see if the number Pad works, if not, try the Fn Key + Num lock

Besides, you need to do a few steps relate to Windows set up to work smoothy

    • Update keyboard drivers: Go to Device Manager by searching on Start menu > expand Keyboards > Right‑click your keyboard device > Select Update driver > Click Search automatically for drivers > wait while Windows searches and installs any available updates > Restart your PC
    • Update Windows > Go to Settings > Windows update: make sure that update fully

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.

To set up your extended keyboard to utilize the number pad effectively, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Ensure Num Lock is On: Make sure that the Num Lock key is activated. This allows you to use the number pad for inputting numbers.
    2. Check Keyboard Settings: Go to your computer's settings to ensure that the keyboard layout is set correctly. For Windows, you can access this through Settings > Time & Language > Language > Keyboard.
    3. Use Keyboard Remapping: If you're using specific applications that require certain keys from the number pad, you might need to remap them. For example, in the Host Integration Server 5250 Client, you can edit the 5250.kbd file to support specific functions for the number pad keys such as PAGE_UP, PAGE_DOWN, and ENTER.
    4. Test the Configuration: After making changes, test the number pad in various applications to ensure that it functions as expected.

If you are using specific software or applications, check their documentation for any additional settings related to keyboard usage.
