Doc Intelligence is not detecting fields past page 2 of PDF

I recently upgraded to a pay as you go subscription to Azure to set up my first custom Doc Intel custom extraction model. I have PDFs that are 3+ pages but when I click "Run Layout" it is only detecting fields on the first two pages. Does it take a long time for the paid features to activate on my account? I had the free subscription but upgraded about 15 minutes ago. What else could be causing this?

    Hello Tucker Raney •,
Upgrading your Azure account to Pay-As-You-Go does not affect document processing or limit page counts. The reason only the first 1–2 pages appear in the layout preview is due to the behavior of Azure AI Document Intelligence Studio, where the Run Layout feature is only a lightweight UI preview designed for quick labeling and structure checks.
It does not represent the full extraction engine. When you actually analyze the document using your trained model, Microsoft’s document intelligence service will process all pages of the PDF and return complete results in the JSON output, even if the preview only displayed the first couple of pages.

The PDF meets all 3 requirements. The first two pages work well but it isn't working for the rest of the file. All files are less than 1 MB with about 15 pages.

It seems that the issue you're experiencing with Azure Document Intelligence only detecting fields on the first two pages of your PDF may be related to the limitations of the free-tier subscription. When using the free-tier subscription, only the first two pages of PDFs are processed, regardless of the number of pages in the document. Since you mentioned that you recently upgraded to a pay-as-you-go subscription, it may take some time for the upgrade to fully activate, but typically, the features should be available shortly after the upgrade.

If the problem persists after the upgrade has been activated, ensure that your PDF file meets the input requirements, such as:

    1. The file size for analyzing documents should be 500 MB for the paid tier.
    2. The PDF should not be password-locked.
    3. The document should be formatted correctly to allow for proper field detection.

If you continue to encounter issues, consider reaching out to Azure support for further assistance.
