How to fix 'Account Error' when signing into any MS Office Pro Plus 2024 product?

When signing into an Office account using a personal email address, the error message, "Account Error - There are problems with your account. To fix then, please sign in again." is displayed. When signing in again, a 'login-loop' is the result. This also happens when trying to add the same email account to Outlook.

Other personal accounts seem to work ok, and they are also successful when adding them to Outlook.

Things tried: Repair, uninstall/reinstall, on and offline repair. The account is also successful when logging in using Web Outlook and the 'free' version of Outlook.

Account Types Used: **@outlook.com (success); ******@hotmail.com (success); *@hotmail.com (fail)

Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

    Hello Keith Wong,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A forum

I understand you are trying to sign in to your Office apps on your device using personal email address, but the error message, "Account Error - There are problems with your account. To fix then, please sign in again." is displayed. Now you are stuck in a login loop.

Here is what you can try:

Make sure your Office 2024 is updated to the latest version.

Next, try clearing Office cached credentials:

    • Open Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials
    • Remove anything containing: MicrosoftOffice, ADAL or MSOID
    • Restart Windows
    • Sign in again to your Office apps

Try this method, then updated me on the situation by reply back to this post. I'll be happy to help.
