Send receive is getting stuck...then I restart and go to groundhog day. Keeps going back to previously read emails as new and building.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m really sorry about the trouble you’re experiencing with your email. When Send/Receive keeps getting stuck and your messages keep showing up as “new,” it’s often related to syncing problems, profile corruption, or a damaged data file, and I’ll do my best to help you get this sorted out.

To better understand what’s causing this on your end, may I ask if you’re using Outlook on your computer (desktop app) or through a web browser (Outlook.com)? Also, which version of Windows are you currently using?

I appreciate your time, and I look forward to your reply so we can work on fixing this together.

    Thank you,

If your Outlook is getting stuck during the send/receive process and keeps showing previously read emails as new, it could be due to a few reasons:

    1. Damaged Send/Receive Group: This issue can occur if the Send/Receive group within Outlook is damaged. You may need to create a new Send/Receive group to resolve this behavior. For Outlook 2010 and later, you can do this by going to File > Options > Advanced > Send/Receive. From there, you can copy the existing group and create a new one.
    2. Stuck Read Receipts: Sometimes, a read receipt that is stuck in progress can cause Outlook to continuously try to resend it, leading to issues with the Outbox. This can be resolved by deleting the nonexistent messages that are causing the problem.
    3. Manual Send/Receive: Ensure that the Send immediately when connected option is enabled. If this option is not enabled, messages may remain in the Outbox until you manually initiate a send/receive operation.
    4. Corrupted Folder Hierarchy: If the folder hierarchy in your mailbox is corrupted, it can also lead to issues with sending and receiving emails. This can happen if the Sent Items folder is incorrectly configured.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for updates or repairing your Outlook installation.
