How Do I Contact A Moderator?

I'm a moderator - or was - and I'm trying to contact a moderator about my status as a moderator.

I think part of my challenge is that the UI/UX has changed again and I'm getting used to the new interface. Another challenge is that I have three different Microsoft accounts I have accumulated over the years for the most silly reasons and getting the correct one logged in is usually a struggle with Microsoft's obtuse security interface.

Hi Stefan, I hope you are well.

I added a post on Microsoft Q&A and later decided that I wanted to remove it. Since I didn’t have the option to delete it myself, I edited the post and asked someone in the community for guidance on how to delete it, or for a moderator to remove it on my behalf. I can’t always recall every detail clearly due to my autism and disability.

A few days later, I checked my account to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. I had been advised to click on the three dots to delete a post, but in my case, I only had an edit option. That’s why I asked the community for help.

I also contacted Microsoft on social media (X/Twitter) through Microsoft Helps. They explained that, because of my request, a moderator deleted the post for me, which is why I didn’t receive an email notification. That is completely fine, as I didn’t do anything wrong.

However, when I checked my account and viewed my posts, it says that my post was deleted due to the Code of Conduct. This was concerning, as I did not break any rules and did not receive any warning or email.

According to Microsoft Helps, this “Code of Conduct” message does not mean that I broke any rules. It is simply how the system labels deleted posts, even when a post is removed at the user’s request. I understand this now, but without that explanation, the message can be worrying and misleading.

Because no rules were broken (according to Microsoft Helps on social media), I did not receive any email notification, so this was most likely part of an automated process. However, it would be helpful if end users also had the option to delete their own posts.

I also apologise if anything I’ve said comes across as rude. I still struggle with communicating effectively due to my autism and disability, and I tend to worry a lot.

Another moderator deleted the post, probably because they thought you wanted to delete it.

If you report your post, the system will delete it automatically as soon as you report your content.
