You’re absolutely right, @Valerie Brown. I’m now seeing similar reports coming in from various users as well.

As a forum moderator, though, I want to be transparent that I don’t have the tools or administrative permissions needed to investigate anything on the service side. Root‑cause analysis and confirmation of service‑level incidents are handled exclusively by the internal product teams at Microsoft, and those teams don’t actively monitor Q&A threads here.

Because of that, I’m suggesting that anyone who’s experiencing this issue, especially if you’re part of an organization or school that has an IT administrator, please consider sharing this problem with them and asking them to submit a report through the Microsoft 365 Service Health dashboard. That’s the official channel monitored directly by the engineering and product teams. When issues are reported through Service Health, those teams can collect diagnostic signals, correlate reports across tenants, and escalate internally in a much more structured and effective way than what’s possible through community forums.

Also, since users are reporting this problem individually across different places rather than in one centralized location, it would be incredibly helpful if you could kindly click “Accept Answer” on this post. When an answer is accepted, the system automatically pins and highlights the thread, making it far easier for other users experiencing the same issue to find this discussion quickly. The more people see it, the more likely they are to report the issue properly through their IT admins, which in turn increases visibility for the product teams and speeds up investigation and resolution.

Doing this would be genuinely helpful for the wider community, especially at moments when a potential issue isn’t yet officially acknowledged. And of course, I’ll continue to monitor the situation from my side; if anything new surfaces or Microsoft posts an official update, I’ll immediately share it here.

Thanks again for your collaboration and for helping amplify this so others can benefit as well.

    Hi,

A lot of people from different institutions are reporting the same issue, so it's not only in my institution, Could you investigate if there's an issue from your end?

    Thanks

Dear @Valerie Brown and everyone experiencing the same issue,

Thank you all for taking the time to report this. Thanks to the collective efforts from the community, Microsoft has now officially acknowledged the issue on the Service Health dashboard.

You can view more details here: https://admin.cloud.microsoft/?#/homepage/:/alerts/TM1230627 (admin permissions required; the notice hasn’t fully propagated to some tenants yet).  User's image

The product team is currently collecting additional diagnostic information and actively investigating the root cause so they can move forward with implementing a fix.

I hope everyone understands that forum moderators here operate independently from the engineering teams, so we aren’t able to intervene directly, but please rest assured that they’re working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible. I truly appreciate your patience while the team continues their efforts.

Thank you again for your cooperation and for helping bring visibility to the issue.

    Hi @Valerie Brown

Thank you for reaching out in the Microsoft Q&A forum. After reviewing your question, I checked the publicly available service‑status resources, and at this time, the official Microsoft Service Health page does not show any active incidents related specifically to Microsoft Teams Assignments, so it doesn’t look like this is a widespread issue at the moment.

That said, it would be helpful if your tutors could try a few quick steps just to rule out common local issues. The simplest place to start is signing out of Teams completely and then signing back in. If things still don’t load, clearing the Teams cache often helps refresh stuck components.

It would also be great if they could try opening the Teams web version to see whether Assignments behave any differently there, and if possible, using an incognito or private browser window to eliminate the influence of cached data or browser extensions.

If you hear anything new from them, whether things improve or the issue continue, please feel free to drop an update under this post. I really hope we can sort this out smoothly, and I’m here to continue looking into it with you.

    Thank you for your collaboration!

If tutors are experiencing issues with Teams assignments not loading, it may be related to configuration or deployment problems. It's advisable for LMS admins to contact Microsoft Education Support to help resolve these issues. Additionally, ensuring that cookies are allowed and popups are not blocked in the browser settings can help with loading issues. If the problem persists, checking the integration settings for Microsoft Teams with the LMS being used (like Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard) may also be necessary.
