Hi @VEMULA SRISAI ,when I try to sign in or switch to my personal directory, I receive the error code AADSTS5000225 (“This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity”).

The error code you encountered indicates that your tenant has been inactive for over 200 days past the billing cycle, triggering Microsoft’s effort to remove inactive tenants. When a tenant remains inactive for this period, the OMS commerce system imposes a login block (AADSTS5000225). Twenty days after the login block is applied, the tenant is permanently deleted.

If you plan to unblock your inactive tenant, it’s essential that it has been blocked for less than 20 days. After the 20-day period, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Note: If it's a test tenant, please re-create a new tenant for testing purposes.

I need to reactivate it to revise associated payment methods, or get any guarantee that it gets totally deleted within the tenant. But my question is if this tenant is associated with my family 365 subscription, in this case, I don't understand why is "inactive".

Hello Sergio,

The error AADSTS5000225 applies only to the Azure Directory, not your personal account.

Microsoft detects when an Azure tenant hasn't been used (no portal logins or active resources) for over 90 days and blocks it to save resources.

Your Family Subscription: This is tied directly to your Personal Microsoft Account (MSA), which is architecturally separate from the Azure Tenant. Your payments, OneDrive, and Office apps are safe and will continue working normally regardless of this error.

Your payment methods for Microsoft 365 Family are saved in your main Personal Account.

This "Blocked Tenant" does not hold your Family subscription.

You can verify your payments are safe by logging into account.microsoft.com/services. If that page works, your subscription is fine.

The scenario is that I try to remove an old credit card in my ms account information but I cannot remove it because is associated to this blocked tenant... Can I get access back to this tenant ? I don't want to view this old card in my account info.

From where you are trying to remove the credit card? you can do this if you are trying to remove from you Microsoft Office 365 personal account but if you are trying to remove it from Azure Tenant please review the information I shared you above.

I'm trying to remove it from my Microsoft Office 365 personal account but I cannot from there and tries to redirects to azure... and it's blocked.

To restore access, the tenant must have been blocked for less than 20 days. After 30 days, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

We can reactivate your tenant only if it has been blocked for less than 20 days, please share the requested details in private message so that we can reactivate your account.

I'm trying but I cannot remove it from my Microsoft Office 365 personal account because it says the card is linked to Azure tenant, it tries to redirect but the tenant is blocked.

It seems this is a widespread problem related to some new tenant checks. I have been using the subscription/tenant in Azure for more than 10 years, and suddenly my access to Azure Portal was blocked last week. It appears Microsoft is doing something with old tenants associated with Microsoft Accounts (which was the default state 10 years ago). I was blocked from accessing the Azure Portal last week. I do not understand why Microsoft does not send notifications in advance or communicate with customers. I opened a ticket with Microsoft, but they cannot find the tenant. Very frustrating situation.
