    Dear Anupindi Parthasarathy

Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand how inconvenient it is when a Bluetooth device doesn’t show up in the discovery list, especially when you need to connect it quickly. At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in both the AI generated answer and the Independent Advisor’s answer on your thread. Those replies typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

To help narrow this down, could you please share the following information?

    • Are you using a laptop or desktop
    • The Bluetooth device type and exact brand/model
    • Whether your device can detect any other Bluetooth devices during scanning
    • Whether this Bluetooth device can be found/paired with a phone or another PC

In the meantime, please try these quick baseline checks:

    1. Turn off Airplane mode (if it’s on), then restart the PC.
    2. Power-cycle the Bluetooth device: turn it off completely, wait 15 seconds, then turn it back on. Keep it within 1 meter of the PC while scanning.
    3. Restart Bluetooth services: press Win + R, type services.msc, then restart Bluetooth Support Service (and Bluetooth User Support Service if it appears).
    4. If you use a USB Bluetooth dongle: unplug it, wait 10 seconds, then plug it into a different USB port and scan again.

While our initial response may not fully resolve the issue, we truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution.

I hope the steps above help your Bluetooth device appear in the discovery list and allow you to complete pairing successfully. Wishing you a smooth and stable connection experience on Windows, with minimal interruption while you continue your work.

    Hi,

Please check if you connected the same device before; you would have to remove it to re-add it.

You can access the Start menu > Settings > Bluetooth and Devices > View more devices > Find the device you are trying to re-add and click on the ... and select remove.

After removing it, try adding the device again.

If possible, please provide the model of the Bluetooth device you are trying to add.

    Thanks

If your device is not listed in the Bluetooth connectivity list, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled: Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on in your Windows settings. You can check this by going to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
    2. Make Device Discoverable: Ensure that your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode and discoverable. Refer to the device's documentation for instructions on how to do this.
    3. Remove Interfering Devices: If you have other Bluetooth devices connected, disconnect them as they might interfere with the pairing process.
    4. Update Bluetooth Drivers: Check if your Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can do this in Device Manager by right-clicking on your Bluetooth adapter and selecting Update driver.
    5. Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter: If the above steps do not work, run the Bluetooth troubleshooter by going to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and finding the Bluetooth troubleshooter to run it.

Following these steps should help you resolve the issue of your device not appearing in the Bluetooth connectivity list.
