I cannot open assignments in my Teams classroom

I am unable to access assignments.

I have restarted the computer twice.

I have restarted Teams multiple times. I am online, not in the app.

I have tried on different devices, but with same end result.

I get this error message when I try to open the assignments in my Teams Classroom: Korrelations-ID: [Moderator's note: personal information removed]

I am able to open all other functions, this only applies to "assignments".

Sincerely

    Hello @Anne Christiansen Lucero, Andreas Nebdal,

    Thank you for sharing the details of your issue.

    I’ve reviewed the situation, and I want to reassure you that this problem is not caused by anything on your side. Microsoft has confirmed this as an active service incident, and the engineering team is currently working to resolve it.

    Below is the official summary from the Service Health dashboard:

    ================================

    Users may receive error messages when opening, setting, or deleting assignments in Microsoft Teams

    • Issue ID: TM1230627
    • Affected service: Microsoft Teams
    • Start time: February 11, 2026, 9:00 AM UTC
    • Scope of impact:  Users in the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America may be unable to use the Assignments app in Teams. Any users hosted within these regions could experience the issue.
    • Root cause:  A recent service update deployed to the European infrastructure encountered unexpected failures. This resulted in degraded service behavior for the Assignments feature.
    • Current status:  The engineering team identified the failed service update as the potential cause and has initiated a rollback to the last known good build. They are carefully monitoring service telemetry during the rollback and are evaluating alternative remediation options.

    Next steps:  Microsoft engineers will continue monitoring the rollback process to ensure service stability. They are also performing deeper investigations to understand the underlying cause and validating additional remediation paths.

    ================================

    Please rest assured that Microsoft engineers are working diligently to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. No action is required on your side at this moment.

    It seems that you are experiencing issues accessing assignments in your Teams classroom. Since you mentioned that you can open other functions without any problems, the issue may be related to specific settings or permissions associated with the assignments feature in Teams for Education.

    Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access assignments. Sometimes, specific roles or permissions may restrict access.
    2. Clear Cache: If you are using the web version of Teams, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or try accessing Teams in an incognito window.
    3. Update Teams: Make sure that your Teams application is updated to the latest version. If you are using the web version, ensure your browser is up to date.
    4. Check for Service Issues: Sometimes, there may be temporary service issues with Microsoft Teams. You can check the Microsoft 365 service health status to see if there are any ongoing issues.
    5. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to your institution's IT support or Microsoft support for further assistance.

    If you continue to receive the error message, providing that correlation ID to support can help them diagnose the issue more effectively.
