    Dear Yogesh Gowda

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you’re using an IMAP/POP account in new Outlook for Windows and can’t set the sender display name (the name recipients see), while classic Outlook allows it.  The option to edit the display name for email recipients is not yet available in new Outlook for Windows. This explicitly in Microsoft support documentation about changing the display name. See: Change the display name that email recipients see in classic Outlook - Microsoft Support

However, you could try these steps:

    • Set the display name using classic Outlook account settings (applies to IMAP/POP). Change the “Your name” field under File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Change in classic Outlook for Windows. This updates the display name that appears when you send email.
    • If the mailbox is actually Exchange (not IMAP/POP), only the Exchange admin can change it. Exchange display name changes can’t be done by the end user in Outlook; it must be changed by the Exchange administrator.
    • Provide feedback to request this feature in new Outlook. Your feedback is valid. Please submit feedback via Help > Give Feedback for missing features.

See : Feature comparison between new Outlook and classic Outlook - Microsoft Support

See: Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app

Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
