Relative path to template source

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to put relative path as a source for custom templates. I need the template to be connected even on another computer but the source path is an obsticle.

I've tried ".\custom.dotx", "~\custom.dotx" and other positions in the path like ".\company\docs\custom.dotx".

The document is two folders down from the dotx, meaning "docs\folder\folder\document.docx"

Here you can see the absolute path:

Will it work if i move the document one folder up? Is there even a way to do this?

Thank you in advance,

AG

Sorry, it's not possible to use a relative path to the attached template.

Instead, consider using Office's Workgroup Templates feature that allows you to create a template folder on a network share. Then every user has the same path to the template. Here's how to set up Workgroup Templates: Shared Workgroup Templates - Best Practices

BTW, except for special circumstances, you should leave the Automatically update document styles option unchecked, it can cause unwanted formatting changes

I agree with John that you want your templates in your Workgroup Templates folder. If it is there, for each user, the document should automatically link to the template. I also agree with him about not checking the box to automatically update styles from the template.
