To set up SharePoint with 5 users through your domain hosted by GoDaddy.com, you can follow these steps:

    1. Domain Setup: Ensure that your domain is properly configured in Microsoft 365. If you haven't added your domain yet, you can do so by going to the Microsoft 365 admin center and following the guided setup to add your domain.
    2. User Creation: After your domain is set up, you can create user accounts for the 5 users in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Assign appropriate licenses that include SharePoint access.
    3. SharePoint Setup: Use the SharePoint setup guide available in the Microsoft 365 admin center. This guide will help you configure SharePoint according to your organizational needs, including site creation, user permissions, and document libraries.
    4. Permissions Management: Make sure to manage user permissions effectively to control access to SharePoint sites and documents.
    5. Training and Support: Consider providing training for your users on how to use SharePoint effectively, as well as setting up support channels for any issues they might encounter.

By following these steps, you can successfully set up SharePoint for your users through your domain.

    Hi @Stacey Ray,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Setting up SharePoint with five users using a domain hosted by GoDaddy is a supported and common configuration, provided the domain is correctly connected to Microsoft 365.

If your domain is hosted with GoDaddy, you can add and verify it in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Microsoft supports automatic domain setup with GoDaddy using Domain Connect, which allows Microsoft 365 to create and manage the required DNS records on your behalf (such as TXT and CNAME records) once you authorize the connection. Microsoft’s official guidance for connecting GoDaddy domains to Microsoft 365 can be found here:: Connect your DNS records at GoDaddy to Microsoft 365 - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

    After the domain is verified:

    • User accounts can be created using your custom domain (for example, ******@yourdomain.com)
    • Licenses can be assigned to each user
    • SharePoint Online becomes available for collaboration among those licensed users

However, it’s important to note that SharePoint Online site URLs always use the tenant’s *.sharepoint.com domain. Even when you add a custom domain from GoDaddy, the SharePoint site address itself cannot be fully replaced with yourdomain.com.
    However, Microsoft does allow:

    • Renaming the SharePoint tenant URL (for example, from oldname.sharepoint.com to newname.sharepoint.com)
    • Using your custom domain for user sign‑ins and email addresses

If SharePoint is already provisioned but you’re validating the configuration, make sure that:

    • Each of the five users has a Microsoft 365 license that includes SharePoint Online
    • The GoDaddy domain shows as Verified in the Microsoft 365 admin center
    • DNS records required by Microsoft 365 are present and healthy.

If you're the Microsoft 365 Global Admin, you can run this SharePoint set up guide to have the recommended result: Set up SharePoint and OneDrive in Microsoft 365 with a step-by-step guide - SharePoint in Microsoft…
