Word Online page breaks are incorrect when printing

Word Online does not properly render page breaks when printing, and apparently this has been an issue for at least two years now.

Printing via Google Docs with the same text, there is no issue. Printing via Word Desktop (Editing > Open in Desktop), there is no issue. But printing anything via Word Online, the browser preview does not match the print preview. This is frustrating for users because the layout and formatting of their document does not match what is on the screen when the document is printed.

Surely this is an issue that should be fixed by now, and should be prioritized to be fixed quickly given that it has persisted for years at this point?

Generally, Word online does not create a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of view.

To see a true representation of the layout of your document, use the preview at File > Print. The preview actually makes use of PDF conversion.

In my experience, Word online remains a rather basic tool, to be used primarily when you make small changes in a document. You really need Word for a computer (PC or Mac) to do real work.
