Same here, the issue is caused by the latest update that OneDrive is slowing down. Uninstalling OneDrive fixed it.

    Greetings!

This is Tin, I'll do my best to help. Looks like it's really slow when you're trying to open Folder on your device. Let me assist you.

May I know if it's only the Folder synced to Onedrive or even the Local folders?

Have you tried to check if your Onedrive is not yet full?

Kindly try to sign out and sign back in your Onedrive and check if the issue persists.

To do that, please click the Onedrive icon at the lower right part of your screen. Click Settings, then Settings again, then Accounts. Please unlink. And check if the issue persist.

    Thanks,

    Tin

If folders are opening slowly and there is slow syncing of new files, it could be related to several factors. Here are some potential causes and solutions:

    1. Network Performance: Slow network connections can significantly impact the speed at which folders and files are accessed. If you are using a WAN connection, this could lead to delays when opening folders or syncing files.
    2. Shared Folders: If you have many shared folders or mailboxes open in applications like Outlook, it can lead to performance issues. The number of shared folders that can be opened without issues depends on hardware, mailbox size, and network speed.
    3. SMB Configuration: If you are accessing files over SMB (Server Message Block), ensure that the SMB binaries are up-to-date. Disabling leasing on the SMB server may help resolve slow performance issues, but it should be done cautiously as it can affect other applications.
    4. File Location: If files are located on a remote network computer, accessing them can be slower due to the time taken to retrieve detailed information about the file and share, especially over a slow connection.
    5. Outlook Performance: If using Outlook, large mailboxes or many items in a folder can cause slow performance. Consider archiving items or reducing the number of items in heavily used folders.

To improve performance, consider checking your network speed, reducing the number of open shared folders, and ensuring that your SMB settings are optimized for your environment.
