Teams - Owners of the team cannot see channels

We have multiple Teams that have listed owners.

However, the channels no longer have the owners listed and therefore we can't see the channels anymore.

Any suggestions for a fix?

    Hello @Alex

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Community!

Thank you for contacting us about the issue where Teams still lists owners at the Team level, but channels are not visible and channel owners no longer appear within channels. I understand how disruptive this is, and I am here to help investigate the issue.

Please reply with the details below so I can have a clearer picture on the situation:

    1. Does this affect all users, a subset of users, or only specific roles such as owners versus members?
    2. Does the issue appear on Teams app, web or both?

In case it appears in Teams web, try clearing web browser.

In case the issue is also in Teams app, please sign out and sign back in, reinstall the app and clear cache following this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

    1. Within Teams, when you open the team and select Manage Team, are the channels listed there, and do owners appear correctly at the team level?
    2. Have there been recent app updates, policy changes, or administrative modifications to Teams or channel permissions?

    Your confirmation would be helpful!

In the meantime, please follow the steps below in the order presented and let me know the results:

Confirm the Teams view setting and switch to Separate view

The new combined Chats and Channels view can hide or merge the channel list.

    • In Teams on the web, open Settings, select Chats and Channels, and choose Separate.
    • Restart the desktop client afterward.

For more details: The new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support

Verify channels are not simply hidden

Expand the team, select See all channels, and choose Show for any channels that are hidden.

Please provide answers to the scoping questions and let me know which remediation steps you have completed. Based on your responses, I will then tailor additional client‑side steps for the affected users.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
