Explorer mode button not showing even though I've enabled it

I've enabled the IE mode in the settings and restarted Edge, but no matter what I do the option seems to just be gone. I cannot toggle it in the toolbar, and it's not even in the three dots menu. Where'd it go? The option to enable it was still in the settings so it should still be there somewhere. It's just not showing for me.

Hi Sharon, could you post a screenshot of edge://settings/defaultBrowser page so that I can check?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

If the Internet Explorer mode button is not showing in Microsoft Edge despite being enabled in the settings, there are a few things you can check:

    1. Policy Settings: Ensure that the policy for Internet Explorer integration is set correctly. If you are managing Edge through Group Policy, confirm that the settings allow for IE mode to be enabled and visible in the toolbar.
    2. Restart Edge: Sometimes, a simple restart of the browser is not enough. Try completely closing Microsoft Edge and reopening it to see if the button appears.
    3. Check for Updates: Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge installed, as updates can fix bugs or issues related to features like IE mode.
    4. Registry Settings: If you have administrative access, check the registry settings to ensure that Internet Explorer integration is configured correctly. You can find diagnostic information on the Microsoft Edge Compatibility tab by navigating to edge://compat/iediagnostic.
    5. Enterprise Mode Site List: If the site you are trying to access is already in the organization's Enterprise Mode Site List, the options to use IE mode may be greyed out. Ensure that the site is not already configured in a way that restricts the use of IE mode.

If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support or checking the Microsoft Edge documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
