Building and customizing solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs and tools
Hello Ahmed AbdelMoneim,
This is a known scenario where an agent works correctly in Copilot for Office 365 but fails in Microsoft Teams with a generic SystemError because Teams enforces additional requirements that are not strictly validated in Copilot Studio. Common causes include Teams app permission policies blocking the bot, incomplete Teams channel configuration requiring re-publishing, missing or broken Conversation Start (Greeting) topics, and stricter enforcement of connector or flow permissions for Teams users.
Resolving the issue typically involves ensuring the Teams channel is properly enabled and published, verifying bot permissions in Teams Admin Center, confirming a valid greeting topic exists, re-adding the Teams channel if needed, and checking user access to all connectors or data sources used by the agent.
