Hi,

Certain devices with AMD processors on Win 11 23H2, and 24H2 are experiencing a computer restart when turning on their camera in a teams meeting or when sharing their screen in a teams meeting. It seems to have occurred after the January Security Update. This is a organization wide issue and I can't seem to get a good response for Lenovo or AMD. Both are stating it was due to the Windows January Security Update.

    Dear @Spencer Case

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you’re experiencing an organization-wide issue where Windows 11 devices with AMD processors (versions 23H2 and 24H2) unexpectedly restart when users enable their camera or start screen sharing during Microsoft Teams meetings, an issue that began after the January security update, persists despite all drivers and Windows updates being current, and for which both Lenovo and AMD have indicated the Windows update as the likely cause without providing a clear resolution.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

Regarding this situation, because the problem is not isolated to a single user or device and persists even with all Windows, Teams, and OEM drivers fully up to date, this strongly indicates a broader compatibility issue that requires investigation at the platform level.

To resolve this, Microsoft’s support team will need to step in. A Technical Support Engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.

As forum moderators, we don’t have access to the detailed logs or backend systems needed to troubleshoot this effectively due to privacy and security constraints. For that reason, the most efficient solution would be to contact Microsoft’s support team directly.

It appears that the issue you're experiencing with certain AMD processor devices restarting during Teams meetings when turning on the camera or sharing the screen is related to the January 2026 Windows security update (KB5073455). This update has been reported to cause problems specifically for devices with Secure Launch capabilities. However, the context does not provide specific information about issues directly related to AMD processors in Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 24H2.

For a resolution, it is recommended to install the latest updates, as issues like these are often addressed in subsequent patches. You may also want to check for any updates from Microsoft regarding this specific problem, as they may release fixes or workarounds in future updates.
