Clarification Required – Employee Certification From 2025 Showing 2‑Year Validity

One of our employees has provided a confirmation document for a Microsoft role‑based certification (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) earned in 2025, which states that the certification is valid for two years. However, according to Microsoft’s official certification policy, all role‑based and specialty certifications earned after June 30, 2021 are valid for only one (1) year from the date earned.  Given this, could you please investigate and confirm whether this certification has been assigned an incorrect validity period? If so, we may need to request correction or clarification from Microsoft Certification Support.

Verify whether the employee’s certification (earned in 2025) should indeed display a 1‑year validity instead of 2 years. - Advise on next steps if the validity shown is incorrect.

Expert level certifications are only valid for a year and if earned in 2025 if you require renewal in 2026.

However you can renew 6 months before expiry so a certification that expires in July 2026 could have been renewed in January 2026 and this would extend the expiry to July 2027
