Just updated the Outlook app on my Mac and in the composing window trying to compose a email the cursor can not be seen at all. Have looked on the app for a switch but having not found it nor can I find a setting for it in System Settings. Is this set up like distraction free typing because it is really annoying.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand that after updating Outlook for Mac to Version 16.106, the text cursor no longer appears when you try to compose an email.

I know how frustrating it is when something as basic as the typing cursor disappears, especially right after an update.

According to recent guidance, this issue can occur due to display or rendering glitches in the new Outlook build. Common resolutions include updating Outlook again if a patch is available, restarting the app, checking macOS Accessibility display settings, exiting full‑screen mode, or resetting Outlook preferences if needed. These steps help resolve cursor‑visibility problems in the compose window.

May I ask whether your Outlook window is currently in full‑screen mode or if you recently adjusted any display or accessibility settings on your Mac?

Please feel free to follow up with me so I can guide you step‑by‑step through the fixes or help check for any known issues specific to your Outlook version. I’m here to assist you until this is fully resolved.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

If your cursor is not visible in the Outlook composing window on your Mac, it could be due to a few reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Outlook app is fully updated, as updates can fix bugs and issues.
    2. Restart Outlook: Sometimes, simply closing and reopening the application can resolve display issues.
    3. Adjust Accessibility Settings: Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Display, and check if any settings might be affecting cursor visibility.
    4. Check for Full-Screen Mode: If Outlook is in full-screen mode, try exiting full-screen to see if the cursor reappears.
    5. Reset Preferences: You might consider resetting Outlook preferences, but be cautious as this will revert all settings to default.

If none of these steps work, it may be worth checking online forums or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
