Subscription pop-up even after it's been paid

I had a small glitch of less than a few hours because the credit card used for payment wasn't active when the auto renewal for MS365 came due. I fixed it as soon as I got the 1st "pop up" reminder. I've doublechecked and I'm showing as paid in my account. However, I continue to get the MS 365 Subscription has to be paid pop-ups every time I'm working in MS 365. I don't know how to shut it off. Other than the annoying pop-up, 365 is working fine. HOW DO I TURN OFF THE POP UP??

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand that you continue to see subscription renewal pop‑ups in Microsoft 365 even though your payment has already been processed and your account shows as active.

I know how annoying and disruptive these repeated reminders can be, especially when everything else in Microsoft 365 is working correctly.

This usually happens when Microsoft 365 apps do not immediately refresh their subscription status after a temporary billing interruption. Even though your subscription is already paid, the local Office apps may still be using cached license information.

A common resolution is to sign out of all Microsoft 365 apps, close them completely, and sign back in to force the license to refresh. If the pop‑up persists, updating Office and running a repair often clears outdated subscription data. You can also check your account status through the account portal to confirm it reflects the correct subscription.

Would you happen to know if you are signed in with more than one Microsoft account on your device, such as a personal account and a work or school account?

Please feel free to follow up with me if you need step‑by‑step guidance on refreshing your license, repairing Office, or checking for multiple accounts. I’m here to help until this is fully resolved.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

If you're still receiving pop-up reminders about your Microsoft 365 subscription despite having resolved the payment issue, it may be necessary to refresh your subscription status or check your account settings. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Sometimes, simply signing out of your Microsoft 365 account and signing back in can refresh the subscription status.
    2. Check Subscription Status: Ensure that your subscription is indeed active by visiting your account settings in Microsoft 365. You can verify this under the subscription management section.
    3. Run the Microsoft 365 Activation Troubleshooter: This tool can help resolve activation issues. You can find it in the Get Help app on your Windows device. Make sure you are using the same device where Microsoft 365 is installed.
    4. Contact Support: If the issue persists, you may need to contact Microsoft 365 support for assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your account details.

These steps should help you address the pop-up issue you're experiencing.
