Microsoft Authenticator Deleted My Saved Accounts????

Well since this seems to be the best way to get an answer about anything. Why didn't an of my linked accounts transfer with my Microsoft authenticator application when I logged back in manually using my password? Some context, I broke my last phone into little pieces on accident (I work in the service industry, and it fell in a bad place and instantly broke in half) and I needed another. Unknowingly I would be locked out of doing my job in any capacity since none of my previously saved accounts are on my account anymore. How do I get all of the things that I had on the old phone that is completely destroyed? Do I have to go to HR and create a completely new account and do it all again?

When you switch devices and set up the Microsoft Authenticator app again, your accounts may not automatically transfer if you did not back them up or if the backup feature was not enabled before your previous phone was broken. The Microsoft Authenticator app allows users to back up their accounts to the cloud, but this must be set up prior to losing access to your device.

If you did not have a backup, unfortunately, the accounts that were saved in the app on your old phone are likely lost. To regain access to your accounts, you may need to go through the recovery process for each service you were using, which typically involves verifying your identity through other means (like email or SMS).

If you are unable to recover your accounts this way, you might need to contact your HR department or the IT support team at your organization to see if they can assist you in creating new accounts or resetting your access.

In the future, consider enabling backup for your Microsoft Authenticator app to avoid similar issues. This can help ensure that your accounts are safe and can be restored easily if you switch devices again.
