I purchased and installed Office 2024 this month. I then cancelled my monthly subscription yet I'm unable to fully use Word, Powerpoint etc. I keep getting pop-up 'most features are disabled, I need to reactivate my subscription'. Why? I made a one-time purchase?

    Hi Sonia,

As you mentioned that you used to pay monthly subscription which means you used to have Microsoft 365. Now when you purchased Office 2024, did you reinstall Office or no?

If not, then that's the reason why since Microsoft 365 and Office 2024 build version is different. Next step is to uninstall Microsoft 365 version completely then install Office 2024, once installed, just sign in with the account where Office 2024 associated with and it should activate the Office right after.

It sounds like you may be encountering issues related to the activation of your Office 2024 software after canceling your subscription. When you purchase Office as a one-time purchase, it should not require a subscription to function fully. However, if you had previously been using a subscription version of Office and then switched to a one-time purchase, there may be some residual activation issues.

Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this:

    1. Ensure you are signed in with the correct account: Make sure you are logged into the Office applications with the same Microsoft account that you used to purchase Office 2024.
    2. Check your subscription status: Go to your Microsoft account and verify that there are no active subscriptions that might be conflicting with your one-time purchase.
    3. Update your license: In the Office applications, go to File > Account and look for an option to update your license. This may help in reactivating your purchase.
    4. Reinstall Office: If the above steps do not work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Office 2024 to ensure a clean activation process.

If you continue to experience issues, you may want to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
