Azure portal errors - failed to load resource

For some weeks now, I've had errors on most pages in Azure. Once in the portal (after refreshing 1-3 times), I usually get "Failed to load tenants" error. When I add the tenant to the sign in and get to the correct tenant, I get "Failed to load resource" errors (or equivalent) when navigating to App Services or App Insights--really anything. Refreshing the page (usually multiple times) resolves the problem for that page, but then when I navigate to another page, I get the same error. I've cleared browser cache, used incognito browser instance, used Edge or Chrome. Same problems eventually return. Can anyone provide some guidance on what might be going on?

Just in the interest of being complete, after further research and continued problems, it appears the problem was the software for the Killer Ethernet management software and specifically the "Prioritization Engine" which apparently causes packet loss when accessing the Azure Portal and the resulting connection resets. Disabling that seems to have permanently resolved the problem.

    Hello Mike Clark,

Could you please try the following steps to isolate the issue?

Clear browser cookies and cache, then try accessing the portal again. Alternatively, open the Azure Portal in an incognito/private window: https://portal.azure.com

Try accessing the portal from a different browser altogether.

You can also try accessing these specific URLs directly: https://aad.portal.azure.com/ https://portal.azure.com/#@yourOrg.onmicrosoft.com

If you know your Tenant ID or Tenant Domain, you can force the portal to load that specific tenant (this bypasses the tenant discovery step):

    Format: https://portal.azure.com/<tenant-domain> or https://portal.azure.com/<tenant-id>

    Example: https://portal.azure.com/contoso.onmicrosoft.com

Once you are able to sign in, please go to Directory + Subscriptions and set the correct tenant as your default directory.

    Please also ensure:

      1. Your account is still a member of the correct tenant
      2. Your access/role has not been removed
      3. There are no organization policies blocking access

Sometimes firewall settings, antivirus, browser extensions, or corporate proxy settings can interfere.

    Try from a different device

    • Try using a mobile hotspot (to bypass corporate firewall)

Whitelist Azure Portal URLs in antivirus or firewall settings

If the issue still persists, please review the Error-fetching-tenants thread where several users resolved the issue by whitelisting Azure Portal endpoints in their antivirus/security software.

I hope this helps clarify the troubleshooting steps. Please let us know the outcome after trying the above.
