    Hello,

If the printer's LCD screen shows an E4 error, this has nothing to do with Windows. It indicates something wrong directly on the printer itself. I looked up HP's knowledge base and E4 on their models can mean paper jam. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_6246550-6246594-16

Please use their guidance to troubleshoot, otherwise you would need to reach out to HP support instead. This is not something you can solve from Windows.

Note: This is not Microsoft website/URL, but it is the official OEM/manufacturer site.

It seems that your HP ENVY printer is experiencing issues that may be related to its connection or a specific error state. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Check the Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wired printer, check that the cable is securely plugged in. For wireless printers, confirm that it is connected to a functioning Wi-Fi network.
    2. Printer Status: The amber light indicates that the printer may be in a problematic state. Check the printer's display panel or the printer status on your computer for any error messages. The E4 error code could indicate a specific issue that may need addressing.
    3. Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can often resolve temporary issues.
    4. Run the Printer Troubleshooter: On your Windows 11 computer, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, and then select Run next to Printer. This built-in troubleshooter can help identify and fix common printing problems.
    5. Update Printer Driver: Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. You can check for updates in Device Manager or on the manufacturer's website. If the driver is already the latest version, consider switching to a generic in-box driver.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult the printer's manual or the manufacturer's support for further assistance.
