I am the only global admin for my MS365 for Business entity. I lost access to my Microsoft Authenticator app because I changed phones without realizing that the MFA was linked to the device, not the app. I have no backup MFA methods. I am locked out and need an MFA reset for the global admin account. Every time I log in, the only options are to use Microsoft Authenticator. I am in this constant loop which has no solution. I need a reset.

To regain access to your Microsoft 365 global admin account after losing access to the Microsoft Authenticator app, you will need to reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings. Since you are the only global administrator and have no backup MFA methods, you should take the following steps:

    1. Contact Microsoft Data Protection Support: You can reach out to Microsoft's Global Customer Service by phone. Explain your situation and request to speak with an agent who can assist you in resetting your authentication method. Make sure to mention that you are the only admin and have lost access to your MFA.
    2. Provide Necessary Information: Be prepared to provide details such as your account information, business documentation, and any other relevant information that can help verify your identity.
    3. Alternative Method: If you cannot reach a live agent, consider creating a temporary account (trial tenant) to submit a support ticket requesting assistance from the Data Protection team on behalf of your original tenant.

These steps should help you regain access to your account and reset your MFA settings.
