Microsoft account looping

Hello all, I have an issue that has been plaguing me for months now, and I finally think I have enough figured out to get a question formulated. How can I either fix my Microsoft account sign in looping on the sign in page/xbox app for PC, OR get in touch with someone at Microsoft who can help me? I want to play games with my friends on the Xbox PC app, or even be able to see my account page, or go to my security settings. When I try and load the actual account page, I’ll try to sign in, and it just refreshes the page and signs me out again. On the Xbox App, I go to sign in, select my account, select continue, and then I get the Xbox error 0x80004005 when that isn’t the issue at all as I can sign in just fine with a different Microsoft account. This issue persists regardless of what computer(I can sign in on the Xbox mobile app just fine) I use to try and sign in. I have also tried any solutions the Xbox AI helper has to offer and they are of no use, I get far enough where it keeps asking me the same questions and giving me the same answers that don’t work. I love solving these issues by myself, but after months of trying, I have to throw in the towel and ask for help from others. Thank you all for your time, I hope someone can help.

    Hello T0AZTS,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you can sign in normally with your account. There might be a chance that your account local configuration is having a problem.

Before we proceed further, may I know if the issue persists on other Microsoft apps and the Microsoft website? In the meantime, we can try to clear the credentials cache of the account:

    • Log out of your account on all apps.
    • Go to Settings > Account
    • Select "Sign in with a local account instead" and follow the prompt to switch to a local user. (Only necessary if you're using the affected account to log in to Windows)
    • Log in with that local user and go to Settings > Account > My account and remove the affected account from the list.
    • Type "Credentials Manager" in the search bar and press Enter.
    • Go to "Windows Credentials" and remove all entries related to the affected account.
    • Restart your computer and try sign in again. (You can also switch back to Microsoft Account in the user profile.
