Hello, I am the global administrator for our Microsoft 365 Business tenant:

Tenant domain: svetsmontagemariestadab.onmicrosoft.com

Admin account[Moderator note: personal information removed]@svetsmontagemariestadab.onmicrosoft.com

I am currently locked out of the admin center and unable to authenticate.

The Microsoft Authenticator app does not send notifications, and SMS verification does not work. Because of this, I cannot sign in to open a support case through the normal process.

I need immediate assistance with administrator account recovery and access restoration.

Please escalate this request to the Microsoft 365 Business Support team that handles locked‑out‑admin cases.

I can verify my identity and ownership of the tenant if required.

Please contact me to continue the recovery process.

Thank you.

Hej, jag är global administratör för vår Microsoft 365 Business-klient:

Klientdomän: svetsmontagemariestadab.onmicrosoft.com

Administratörskonto: [Moderator note: personal information removed]@svetsmontagemariestadab.onmicrosoft.com

Tack.

    Dear @Christian Johansson,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for reaching out and for clearly describing your situation. I’m sorry to hear about the inconvenience this has caused.

Based on what you described, I understand that you are the Global Administrator of a Microsoft 365 Business tenant, but you are currently locked out of the admin center because none of the configured multi-factor authentication methods (Microsoft Authenticator push notifications or SMS verification) are allowing you to complete sign-in. As a result, you are also unable to open a support request from within the admin portal.

Please understand that Microsoft Q&A is a public, user‑to‑user forum. Nobody here has access to tenant back-end systems, and we are not able to reset MFA methods, unlock administrator accounts, or verify tenant ownership on your behalf. For security and privacy reasons, these actions cannot be performed through the forum.

In scenarios where a Global Administrator is fully locked out and no alternative admin account is available, the Microsoft 365 Data Protection team is the only team that can assist. They are responsible for securely verifying tenant ownership and identity, and for continuing the administrator account recovery process from the back end.

To move forward, you’ll need to contact Microsoft Support directly via phone and request assistance with a locked-out Global Administrator account. Please try to find the related hotline number to call the frontline let them raise a ticket for you: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

In some countries, this is an automated conversation: First, when you call the hotline, they will ask you what kind of problem you are struggling with.

    Answer: Authenticator.

A: What products do you use?

    B: Office 365 for business.

    Verification: Education or company account?

    B: For companies

    A: Are you an administrator?

    B: Yes.

A: Are there any other administrators in your organization?

    B: No.

A: I need one.... Service request?

    B: Yes

If your organization's Office 365 Business/Education subscription is from a partner or reseller, and the global administrator is unable to open a service request on your end, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

If you still cannot reach to agent, there is still a workaround, you might consider registering for a new tenant by signing up for a trial subscription via this link Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans | Microsoft. This would allow you to create a new tenant following the provided prompts. Once set up, you can access the admin console of the new tenant and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Data Protection team on behalf of your previous tenant.

Please remember to cancel the trial subscription once your issue is resolved to avoid any unintended charges.

I understand that this entire process can feel long and complicated, and I truly appreciate your patience while working through it. These steps are in place to protect the security of your account, so I hope you can understand why they are required. I sincerely hope you’ll be able to regain access to your account soon. If you need help at any point, or if you have any questions during the process, please feel free to reach out, I’m always here and happy to assist.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience.
