Dear Maricarmen Pérez
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand your concern about receiving emails claiming that your Outlook account will be canceled if you don’t “renew” it.
Please note that Microsoft does not require any renewal for personal Outlook.com email accounts and will never send emails asking you to renew your mailbox through a link. Messages like the ones you described are phishing attempts designed to steal your personal information.
While Microsoft may send service notifications in different languages based on your account region, we will never ask you to renew your account through external links or threaten cancellation in this manner.
To stay safe, I recommend the following steps:
- Do not click any links in those emails.
- Report the message as phishing (in Outlook: select the email > Report > Report phishing).
- Refer to this article for more guidance: Protect yourself from phishing - Microsoft Support
- Check your account status directly at: https://account.microsoft.com (Never through links provided in suspicious emails)
Please rest assured that your account will not be deleted for not “renewing” it through those scam messages.
