Hi,

I'm running Azure Database for MySQL flexible server version 8.0.

Microsoft announced that: "Your server version will lose standard Azure support on May 31,2026, Upgrade to latest version to avoid extended support charges starting June 1, 2026."

I'm trying to upgrade to version 8.4, but cannot retain the same configuration tier of B1s. The minimum is Standard_D2ds_v4. How do I keep B1s?

    Hello Vadim Ivanov

Before upgrading, you must choose the compute tier to upgrade to perform the major version upgrade. By default, the system upgrades from Burstable SKU to the most basic General Purpose SKU, but you can upgrade to a higher compute tier if needed.

Post-Upgrade Decision: After the upgrade, decide whether to retain the General Purpose SKU or revert to Burstable SKU. This choice is prompted during the initial upgrade steps.

The system automatically upgrades your compute tier from Burstable SKU to the selected General Purpose SKU to support the major version upgrade.

Select which service tier to use after the upgrade: During the initial upgrade steps, you’ll be prompted to select whether to remain on the General Purpose service tier or revert to the Burstable service tier after the upgrade completes. Elendil_8-1723088358089.png
